Tribute to a Tiger – Lachie Ward
As many of you would be aware Wahroonga Tigers Rugby Club tragically lost ex-player Lachie Ward over the weekend.
Lachie started his rugby career with the Tigers, spending many years as a minis player before going on to representative honours with Gordon whilst a junior. More recently and on the weekend, Lachie was continuing to play the game he loved with Warringah Rats. Lachie and his family have made a significant past contribution to our Club over many years as both players and on the Club’s committee.
In recognition of this contribution and as a mark of respect, we as a Club would like all mini and junior players to do the following 3 things this weekend:
- All players are requested to wear black arm bands for their games. The band should be black electrical tape on the left arm through the Brookfield logo. Some tape will be available at the canteen on Saturday for home games however we ask all coaches/managers to arrange their own.
- That all teams take a moment to sing the team song at the end of the game regardless of a win, draw or loss. The lyrics and a video of the song being sung can be found HERE
- That any photos or videos of the above posted to social media are tagged with #ForLachie
We thank everyone for their support during this difficult time for this family within our extended community.
