Building a sense of community
Wahroonga Rugby Club is a not-for-profit junior rugby club run by parent volunteers.
When you join the Tigers, you don't just join a single team, you become part of a wider network. As players grow and develop their skills, we encourage them to give back to the club through refereeing or mentoring younger players at training.
Our canteen helpers, baristas and bar staff are players, former players, or their siblings, each trained through the club, gaining valuable experience for future opportunities.
Many past parents and former players remain actively involved in the Tigers community even once they hand up their boots or their coaching whistle.
Our clubhouse, is a fantastic space for club meetings, fundraising events, and social gatherings. Its signature feature is being able to sit and watch the game from the balcony - this vantage point is unbeatable!
On Friday nights when the Minis train or the Juniors play under lights, there is a buzz up at Cliff. Quinnys Bar serves bottled beer and wine, and the canteen offers food, snacks, and soft drinks. It’s a popular spot for parents to catch up, enjoy the game, and cheer on the Tigers. During the season we open up the gear room and its a place to purchase that exclusive Tigers merch to support the club and your player!
There are many opportunities for parents and carers to volunteer and support the club. If you want to be involved in the direction of the club, you may want to consider a Committee role. These are often vacant and advertised and come up for re-election every year.

Experience Life in Japan through Rugby
We also offer tours. Since 1997, Tigers have a touring arrangement with Japanese Rugby Club, Sanda.
Every second year, players from the U11 & U12 age groups have an opportunity to travel to Sanda – in the Hyogo prefecture of Japan – to be billeted with families of players from Sanda Rugby Club. The alternate year Sanda visits the Tigers and gets to experience what the North Shore and Sydney has to offer.
When we head to Japan, the 8-10 day tour has loads of rugby, our Tigers get to experience Japanese life being billeted with a local family. There is tons of other cool stuff like riding a bullet train, having fun at Universal Studios and visiting culturally significant sites such as Hiroshima.

Golden Oldies Rugby

Golden Oldies Rugby is especially for players aged thirty-five and over. It provides enjoyment for players of all abilities and focuses on participation rather than winning. Golden Oldies Rugby is not too hard-hitting and definitely more social!
The Wahroonga Toothless Tigers play touch footy every Sunday at Cliff Oval – meet the guys, join them for a game of touch and maybe sign up to play!
