Building a sense of community

Wahroonga Rugby Club is a not-for-profit junior rugby club run by volunteers.

When you join the Tigers, you don't just join a single team,  you become part of a wider community. Many past player parents and former players remain actively involved in the Tigers community even once they hand up their boots or their coaching whistle.

There are many ways for carers and players to volunteer and support the club. If you want to be involved in the direction of the club, you may even want to consider a Committee role. These roles are often vacant and advertised and come up for re-election every year at our AGM.

Our clubhouse, is a fantastic space for club meetings, fundraising events, and social gatherings. Being able to sit and watch the game from the balcony is unbeatable on a crisp winter's day!

On Friday nights when the Minis train or the Juniors play under lights, there is a buzz up at Cliff. Our bar serves drinks, and the canteen offers food, and snacks. It’s a popular spot for Tigers' supporters to catch up, enjoy the game, and cheer on the Tigers.

During the season we regularly open up the gear room and its a place to purchase that exclusive Tigers merch to support the club and your player!

Golden Oldies Rugby

Toothless2

Golden Oldies Rugby (Over 35’s) is all about “fun, friendship and fraternity”, not competition. The Wahroonga Toothless Tigers play touch rugby every Sunday at Cliff Oval and welcome players of all abilities to join the game and relive the glory days or try rugby for the first time!

Founded in 2001, when they competed against the Sanda Golden Oldies (known as Suiwaku) from Japan, during the Sanda Rugby Football Club juniors tour to Wahroonga.

The Toothless Tigers are part of Wahroonga Rugby Club, made up of parents, former players, and coaches who love the game and enjoy giving back to the junior club.

We meet for touch rugby on Wednesday nights and Sunday afternoons, with club games held around ten times a year. Our motto, "We will always make work on Monday," reflects our focus on fun, camaraderie, and socialising rather than hard-hitting competition.

If you’re over 35 and looking for a great way to stay active, meet new people, and enjoy rugby again, come join us! No experience necessary just bring your sense of humour and a love for the game.

Register to become a Toothless Tiger, dust off those old leather boots and show your kids how good you keep telling them you were!!

Enquiries can be made at the bar (of course). Or email Jonathan “Frenchy” Handschuh jonathan.handschuh@hotmail.fr
