Old Tigers Don’t Die. They Become Toothless…

Golden Oldies Rugby is especially for players aged thirty-five and over.

Rugby is a sport that brings people together, fostering a sense of camaraderie and friendship. For those who have grown up playing the sport, it holds a special place in their hearts. But what happens when the body can no longer keep up with the demands of the game? That's where Over 35s comes in.

It provides enjoyment for players of all abilities and focuses on participation rather than winning. Golden Oldies Rugby is not too hard-hitting and definitely more social!

The Wahroonga Toothless Tigers play touch footy every Sunday at Cliff Oval – meet the guys, join them for a game of touch and maybe sign up to play!

Toothless Tiger's is an over 35s Rugby Union team that was founded in 2009 for the World Masters Cup held in Sydney. The team was formed as part of the Wahroonga Tigers Junior Rugby Union Club and was founded by a group of parents who wanted to continue playing the sport they love. The team's focus is on having fun and playing the game with mates, and our motto "we will always make work on Monday" reflects this.

Being a toothless tiger is more than being an old player, it's giving back to the club, we are parents, former players, coaches, and support the junior club as needed.

The team meets:
1. Every Wednesday night (optional) to play touch, 7:30pm in winter, 7pm in summer.
2. Every Sunday (Optional) 3:00pm in winter, 4pm in summer.
3. Over 35s club games - We put on the club colours about 10 games a year(Every 3 weeks), with most on a Friday night with a few weeks break between games.

The modified games are a great opportunity to socialise and make new friends, as well as to relive the glory days of your rugby playing past or celebrate you're well over 35 and playing for first ever game to impress the kids.

The team hosts the Battle of Cliff and have become a foundation member of Hexagon Rugby. All our games are on the Upper North Shore.

So, if you're looking for a place to play rugby, have fun, and make new friends, come down to Wahroonga Toothless tigers. We need you to keep the team going. With a focus on fun and a welcoming atmosphere, you're sure to have a great time and come away with new memories and friendships.

If you would like to come and join us, please drop Craig Quilkey an email - no experience necessary, just a sense of humour and a desire to have fun!
