Our Volunteers Are the Heart of our Club!
Our Club only exists with the help of our volunteers. They are at the heart of everything we do at the club.
We need volunteers in administrative roles such as the Committee, volunteers that run games such as Referees, Assistant Referees or Ground Marshalls and key team roles such as Coach, Assistant Coach and Manager. If you want to be involved at a squad levels why not volunteer for the Age Coordinator role!
If you can only offer a bit of time, sometimes, we have canteen opportunities, ground set up and pack down and special event helpers. You can sign up to the canteen and events Whatsapp groups by joining the Wahroonga Rugby Club Community Chat.
We look for volunteers in these roles:
- Committee positions
- Coaching
- Age Coordinators (AC)
- Managers
- Assistant Referees (AR)
- Ground Marshals (GM)
- Canteen & BBQ support
- Ground setup and pack down
- Event helpers
If you’re interested please reach out to a Committee Member to discuss what may be suitable for you!

WHY VOLUNTEER AT OUR CLUB?
There are many reasons people volunteer, but at our club, you will:
- Support the objective of our association - to enable community kids to play rugby
- Make a difference in the community
- Find purpose and connection
- Enjoy meaningful conversations
- Contribute your skills and time to a cause you care about
THERE IS ADMINISTRATION REQUIRED TO BE A VOLUNTEER.....but don't let that hold you back!
Depending on the level of volunteering, there may be a learning requirement for various roles. Most of the learning in the early stages is available online and can be done at your own pace. If you choose to become a coach of our older age groups - then you are expected to have more developed skills to perform those roles.
The levels of volunteering and learning expectations are as follows:
- Event/Canteen Helpers - Register in RX as a Volunteer for the Club and sign up to the Whatsapp groups in the WRC Community. If you engage in ongoing regular support as opposed to a one off, we may ask you to seek a WWCC.
- Age Coordinators and Managers - Register in RX as a Volunteer and/or Manager. Requires a WWCC. Managers are to complete learning modules relevant to their role.
- Ground Marshalls - Register in RX as a Ground Marshall. Complete the Ground Marshall Course in RX in the Learning Centre.
To register as a Volunteer at the Club. Follow these how to register instructions.
All volunteers in an official game-day role (e.g. AR, GM, Coach, Manager) must be registered via Rugby Xplorer. Step-by-step registration instructions are available here.
These roles will also require completion of online training courses available in the Rugby Xplorer Learning Centre.
Please note, teams U10 and above (Juniors) that do not have these positions filled and registered via Rugby Xplorer will lose competition points.
